Why Melt and Pour?
Melt and Pour soap making is the perfect way to start your soap-making journey. It’s quick, safe, and doesn’t require handling lye—making it ideal for beginners, kids, or anyone who wants beautiful, handmade soap without the fuss.

Whether you're creating gifts, exploring a hobby, or making your first batch for a small business—this guide will walk you through the basics.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • Melt and Pour Soap Base – We recommend our Goat Milk or Shea Butter base for a creamy, nourishing feel.
  • Essential Oils – For fragrance (Lavender, Orange, or Tea Tree are great for beginners).
  • Soap Moulds – Silicone moulds work best for easy removal.
  • Natural Add-ins (optional) – Dried flowers, oats, coffee grounds, turmeric powder.
  • Colorants (optional) – Skin-safe mica powders or liquid colorants.

Tools You’ll Need:

  • Microwave-safe bowl or double boiler
  • Stirring spoon or stick
  • Spray bottle with rubbing alcohol (helps eliminate bubbles)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Cut & Melt
Chop your soap base into small cubes and melt it slowly in the microwave (30-second intervals) or on a double boiler. Stir gently to avoid bubbles.

2. Add Goodness
Once melted, add:

  • 10–15 drops of your chosen essential oil
  • A pinch of colorant (if using)
  • Dried flowers or exfoliants

3. Pour Into Moulds
Carefully pour the mixture into your soap moulds. Spray the top with rubbing alcohol to remove surface bubbles.

4. Let It Set
Allow the soap to cool and harden for 2–4 hours at room temperature. For faster results, place the moulds in the fridge.

5. Unmould & Enjoy!
Once solid, gently pop your soaps out and wrap them in butter paper or store in an airtight container.

Tips for Best Results:

  • Don’t overheat your base—this can burn the soap or cause cracking.
  • Use natural colorants like turmeric or beetroot for a gentle tint.
  • For layering colors, pour in stages and allow each layer to partially set.

Final Thoughts
Melt and pour soap is more than just crafting—it’s a way to relax, get creative, and make something beautiful with your own hands. Whether you're adding flower petals, essential oils, or playing with layers and textures, the possibilities are endless.
